Sometimes when good things come to an end it  is a good  thing! Hoping that is the case here. We did not play our typical game last night which is partly due to McGill and partly due to us. We did not  come out with same fire as we had the last time we played and McGill was certainly playing with something to prove. We struggled containing their 3 point shooters and played one of  our poorer halves of defensive basketball in a while. Despite that we were only down 5 at the halftime.

Time to re-group!!

To start the 3rd quarter we missed 3 shots at the rim and went 2-4 from the foul line that would have pushed us into the lead. McGill did a good job defensively, but we did not take advantage of the opportunities we had. An anemic 8 point 3rd quarter put us in a not so great position heading into the final 10 minutes. We did come to life in the final 6 minutes in the game creating some scoring opportunities with our defense...we started to look like the team we have seen all year! We cut the lead to 3 at the end, but never did get a shot to tie the game.

McGill simply wanted the game more than us for the first 35 minutes. They murdered us on the glass and beat us to loose balls. I would expect to see a different effort Saturday vs. Concordia and in 2 weeks when we face McGill again. This loss should be a good thing for our team...not what we wanted, but should promote growth!

Big Mike led us with 18 points & 5 rebounds. Onnex had 15 points while Jeremy chipped in with 11. The loss leaves us tied for first place with McGill and 1 game ahead of Concordia. That makes Saturday's match up all the more important. Game time is 4pm in the cozy confines of ConU's gym.
